Course Length: 24 hours
In QSA Global, Inc.’s Retrieval Course you will be trained to conduct or supervise the safe recovery of isotope radiography sources involved in accident or malfunction situations.
This course covers a review of applicable regulations, cause and prevention, planning and assessment, exposure determination, shielding and operational guidelines. The course includes a practical lab session retrieving a low activity gamma source and a session for reporting and root cause determination.
Students should be or have been a radiographer with actual field experience using gamma-ray exposure devices. Completion of QSA Global, Inc.'s Inspection Maintenance Course is encouraged.
Radiation safety officers and experienced radiographers interested in preventing source retrievals or that may need to be involved in actual source retrievals.
